Gems of Venice
The enchantment of Venice captured in jewellery
Centuries ago, Venice was the capital of the gem trade in Europe where precious stones from the Orient were cut and crafted into singular pieces of jewellery. The prosperous city on the Adriatic Sea was a magnet for world travellers searching for exceptional gems and distinct craftsmanship.
Angela Cook
The spirit behind Gems of Venice
For more than 40 years, Angela Cook, the British-born founder of Gems of Venice, has continued that Venetian tradition, travelling to exotic locales to handpick treasures for both the local and international clientele that frequent her unique boutique located near the Rialto Bridge.
At Angela’s workshop in the heart of Venice, gemstones from the East are transformed by local artisans into distinct, wearable works of art. As in bygone days, international travellers visit her boutique in search of exceptional mementoes of La Serenissima. Wearing a piece of jewellery from Gems of Venice is like wearing a piece of Venice itself.
